essence of the blockchain.
What are Altcoins?
Altcoins are the other cryptocurrencies which launched after the success of
Bitcoin, usually operating as stronger Bitcoin alternatives. The word
'altcoin' is a combination of alternative and coin and applies to
cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. Some estimates have shown over
5,000 cryptocurrencies by the beginning of 2020. As the first peer-to-peer
digital currency, Bitcoin's success has paved the way; most altcoins are
trying to target the perceived reaches of Bitcoin. An altcoin must have a

upon its basic framework. Therefore, most altcoins are peers that try to
make Internet transactions secure and inexpensive. Even with many similar
