Consumer goods - household goods necessary to meet the needs of person. Consumer (legal term) is the person who uses such goods.

Consumer goods are intended for sale to the public for home use. They are sometimes divided into durable goods, non-durable goods and paid services.

Unlike consumer goods, the market contains industrial goods, that is, goods intended for the production of other goods (means of production). Also, industrial goods can be called goods for professional use, which are used for industrial (mass) production.

Consumer goods cannot be used for industrial production, since they do not have the properties inherent in industrial goods. In the case of using consumer goods for industrial (professional) purposes, they fail (break) before the required service life and, in this case, the manufacturer does not bear warranty obligations to the consumer.

Consumer goods include:

  • Food
  • cloth
  • shoes
  • other goods (household appliances, passenger cars, motorcycles, etc.)
