Public catering service is the activity of the performer (catering enterprises of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) to meet the consumer’s needs for public catering products, to create conditions for the sale and consumption of public catering products and purchased goods, to provide leisure time and other additional services.
Catering services are provided in restaurants, cafes, bars, canteens, snack bars and other public catering establishments, the types of which, and for restaurants and bars also their classes (luxury, highest, first) are determined by the contractor in accordance with the state standard.
Catering services are divided into:
● food services;
● services for the production of public catering products;
● services for organizing the consumption of public catering products and maintenance;
● services for the sale of catering products and purchased goods;
● leisure services, including entertainment;
● information and consulting (consulting) services;
● other catering services.
Food services are services for the production of public catering products, creating conditions for the sale and consumption of public catering products and purchased goods at public catering establishments, as well as the possibility of providing services for organizing leisure time and other additional services.
Services for the production of public catering products include the production of public catering products: semi-finished products, culinary products, dishes, flour confectionery and bakery products, including according to consumer orders, in a complex design, with additional design.
Services for organizing the consumption of public catering products and servicing include:
- catering and catering for various events (banquets, corporate evenings, holidays, etc.), including catering;
- catering and services for participants of conferences, seminars, meetings, including catering;
- organizing catering and serving consumers in recreation areas, at cultural and sporting events, etc.;
- organizing the consumption of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the place of service provision, including the production of cocktails, freshly squeezed juices and other drinks of own production;
- servicing consumers along the route of passenger rail, water and air transport;
- delivery of catering products and service to consumers at workplaces and at home;
- delivery of catering products according to the orders of residents and service in hotel rooms and other accommodation facilities (room service);
- organization of rational comprehensive nutrition for certain groups of consumers.
Services for the sale of public catering products include:
- sale of catering products and purchased goods for take-out from the hall of a catering establishment;
- sales of catering products and purchased goods through order tables, buffets, distribution windows, etc.;
- sales of public catering products and purchased goods outside the enterprise, including in dispensing and pre-preparing public catering establishments, in summer cafes, branches, culinary stores and culinary departments;
- sales of catering products and purchased goods in our own small retail network (kiosks, tents, pavilions, delivery and distribution facilities, etc.);
- sales of catering products and purchased goods through a retail chain;
- complete sets of catering products and purchased goods for the journey to consumers, including tourists for self-cooking.
Leisure services, including entertainment , include:
- organization of music and entertainment (animation) services;
- organizing concerts, variety shows and video programs, etc.;
- providing consumers with musical, entertainment (animation) and television support;
- services for organizing the smoking process (hookahs, cigars, cigarettes, matches, lighters, ashtrays);
- provision of press (newspapers, magazines) to consumers;
- providing consumers with sports board games and slot machines, including for young children in children's playrooms;
- organization of children's playrooms for young children.
Information and consulting (consulting) services include:
- consultations with specialists on the production, design, serving of catering products and table setting;
- consultations with specialists on the organization of dietary nutrition for various diseases;
- consultations with specialists on the selection of wines and alcoholic products;
- consultations with specialists on the selection of tobacco and tobacco products;
- training of staff of catering establishments;
- organizing culinary training;
- organizing food industry exhibitions and participating in exhibitions.
Other catering services include:
- reservation of seats in the halls of public catering enterprises according to consumer orders;
- sale of coupons for the sale of food rations (business lunches, lunches, brunches, etc.);
- services of a cook and pastry chef at home;
- waiter and bartender services for home service;
- rental of table linen, dishes, cutlery, mobile (mobile) kitchen equipment and supplies;

Services for organizing the delivery of public catering products include:
- delivery of public catering products according to consumer orders, including to the office, workplace, home;
- delivery of public catering products to railway, water and air transport for consumption en route;
- delivery of catering products to culinary stores and culinary departments, to retail establishments, and to small retail chains.
