Руанда, 1994 год. В бывшей бельгийской колонии ухудшается политическая обстановка, и нарастает напряжение между двумя населяющими страну народами - тутси и хуту. Представители второй народности начинают без разбору убивать всех, кто, как они считают, принадлежит к первой. Пол - управляющий престижным отелем в столице Руанды. Он пытается укрыть в его стенах как можно больше людей.
