Рим, 1976 год. Семья Ле Розе ведет зажиточный образ жизни. У них дом в элитном районе Рима, гувернантка, летом они отдыхают на море в Калабрии. Валерио 10 лет и, кажется, у него прекрасное детство. Но привычный уклад жизни рушится, когда на его отца совершается покушение. Именно тогда, как будто из ниоткуда, у Валерио появляется друг Кристиан, бездомный подросток, который подозрительным образом всегда оказывается рядом.
