Оставивший родину американец Рик Блэйн, владелец игорного клуба в Касабланке, встречается с покинувшей его несколько лет назад возлюбленной Ильзой, которая приехала в город вместе со своим мужем — борцом антифашистского сопротивления Виктором Лазло.
