В далеком будущем возвращающийся на Землю грузовой космический корабль перехватывает исходящий с неизвестной планеты неопознанный сигнал. Экипаж, в соответствии с основными инструкциями, обязан найти и исследовать источник сигнала. Оказавшись на планете, астронавты повсюду обнаруживают неопознанные предметы, по виду напоминающие гигантские коконы.
