With such "brands" as the Caribbean Sea and the Panama Canal, Central America, it would seem, should "shut up" both North America and South America. But no. Oddly enough, the Panama Canal, which is extremely popular among sailors, often makes it difficult to see the wonders of the countries of Central America. Focusing on crossing the canal on the way to the South Pacific Ocean, yachtsmen forget to look around.

And in vain. Now the situation is being corrected: the sailors realized that there is something to see here, the locals realized that they have something to show. Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia have acquired impressive resources for servicing yachts and ships. And while there are still enough blind spots in Central America's ship infrastructure, there are more and more of those who have finally tasted and appreciated the region.

In three theses, the attractiveness of Central America can be outlined as follows: fascinating coasts, secluded beaches with white sand and beautiful weather (Central America is located below the hurricane belt). But that's not all.

Mexico excites guests with historical and cultural heritage. Mountain settlements lost in the clouds, Mayan temples no less securely hidden in the jungle, colonial cities of the 16th century, located under living volcanoes - all this you can explore in Mexico.

In the south-east, the state of Belize "clung" to Mexico. This small country contains the world's second largest barrier reef system. This system is a magnet for lovers of snorkeling, diving, fishing and kayaking.

300 miles off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica lies the "island of dreams" for divers around the world – Coconut. The richness of the marine fauna is striking in its diversity – incredibly large schools of fish, whale sharks and hammerhead sharks, dolphins, manta rays and baleen whales. On the other side of Costa Rica, near the Caribbean coast of Panama, the Bocas del Toro archipelago is lost, with its green palm forests, white sandy beaches, long reefs and crystal clear waters. In 2001, the program "The Last Hero 1: Lost" was filmed on these uninhabited islands of the archipelago.

Next, head southeast and you'll come to the beautiful San Blas Islands, located between Panama and Colombia. Some of the islands are inhabited by Indians, you can try the local cuisine, see the national Indian dances. And just 20 miles off the coast of Cartagena are the Rosario Islands – visit them if you suddenly miss the coral reefs. Central American Climate
In Central America, a distinction is made between the dry and wet seasons. The wet season lasts from June to November. The amount and nature of rain is different in each country, and often varies even in different parts within the same state (as, for example, in Nicaragua). The dry and hottest season lasts from November to April (sometimes May).

The Caribbean region is good for yachting all year round, except in August and September. It's hurricane season in those two months. If you want more or less predictable weather, stay the southern part of the region, closer to the equator.

Mexico

World-famous beach resorts are just the tip of the iceberg of Mexico's attractions. Dig deeper and you can explore the diverse ecosystems and history of the Aztec and Mayan civilizations.

The Baja Peninsula on the Pacific coast is the world's best place for whale watching. Divers from all over the world come here to swim with these sea giants. And in eastern and southern Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, divers explore tropical coral gardens, remote coves and caves.

The Yucatan Peninsula is the location of incredible cenotes – natural wells in which groundwater flows. Cave diving in the Yucatan is impressive because of the huge length of underwater caves. In addition, it is impossible to overestimate the beauties that can be contemplated inside the cenote. Amazing stalactids and stalagmites create a fabulous atmosphere, the magnificently iridescent rays of the sun even more delight lovers of underwater worlds.

Panama

It's not just 48 miles of the world-famous canal. If you miss shopping, nightlife and really delicious coffee - you are in the capital of the country, Panama City. And now in order: for shopping - in the Albrook area, for the nightlife - in Bella Vista, and for coffee in Geisha (grows in the chiriqui highlands).

Costa Rica

Attention, fishermen! The Pacific coast of Costa Rica has the best sport fishing in the world. Many world records were set in Guanacaste in the northwestern part of the country.

Attention, surfers! Santa Rosa National Park has the Witch Rock. Near this rock is one of the best surf spots (the best not only in Costa Rica, but perhaps in the world). You're there.

Belize

Any self-respecting diver knows what the Great Blue Hole is. Jacques-Yves Cousteau included it in his list of the 10 best places in the world for scuba diving. And it is located here, in Belize, in the center of the Lighthouse Reef as part of the Belize Barrier Reef.
