Riding sport is the most popular sport at the moment, where people and animals participate. But he's far from the only one. We decided to collect all the most interesting sports in our opinion. Perhaps you will hear about some of them for the first time.

Agility. This sport appeared in the 70s in the UK. A person (he is called a guide in this sport) guides the dog through an obstacle course: slides, barriers, tunnels, swings, walls, tires, etc. The dog passes all the tests without the encouragement of food or toys. The speed and accuracy of the passage of obstacles are taken into account.

Barnhant. The sport is mainly for burrowing hunting dogs.
The main conditions are an age older than 6 months and the ability to crawl into a tunnel 45 cm wide At the moment it is common in the USA and Canada, but is already confidently conquering Europe. In this sport, the dog gets to a special sports ground that imitates a barn. Rats hide on it among obstacles, slides, labyrinths and minks. The task of the dog is to detect and catch prey as quickly as possible. At the same time, the "prey" itself does not suffer at all. These are tame rats that sit in special cages with all the amenities.

Dog Frisbee. The essence of this sport: as many times as possible to catch an abandoned flying saucer and do it as effectively as possible. The owner of the dog throws the plate at different speeds, at different distances and at different angles. Frisbee can be practiced by all breeds of dogs and at any age. A very dynamic and spectacular sport.

Coursing. It's a run for mechanical prey. Most often it is an imitation of a hare.

The route for coursing is designed taking into account the breed and has several sharp turns. The judge's assessment consists not only of the dog's speed, but also of its enthusiasm, endurance and intelligence.

Freestyle or cynological freestyle. It's dancing with dogs. The owner and his faithful friend move to the beat of the music. The main task of the couple is to feel each other's rhythm well. Dancing requires complete trust and excellent training. The dog demonstrates acrobatic skills and gets a lot of fun, as, indeed, its owner. Both are evaluated.

Flyball. The birthplace of this sport is California, it appeared around the 60s. This is a team sport, each team has 4 dogs. They must take turns overcoming the track with four barriers, get the ball from a special flyball installation and return through the same 4 barriers back. Next in the relay order runs the second and subsequent members of the tailed team. The winner is the team that first overcomes all obstacles and brings the ball to the base.

Springpole. This sport is relatively young, it appeared in the 90s in the United States. The essence of sport is to grab the rope with your teeth and hang on it as long as possible. Especially suitable for fighting breeds. Tailed athletes older than 10-12 months can participate in the spring field. It is by this age that dogs finally form a jaw. This sport well forms perseverance and endurance, perfectly strengthens the muscles of the body.

Dog-pulling. This sport originated not so long ago in Russia. The essence of dog-pulling is a tug of war between two dogs. If the dog releases its end of the rope from its mouth, it will be considered a loser. The length of the rope is 3 meters. It is held in 3 weight categories to find an equivalent opponent. According to the rules, a partition should be installed between the dogs. So they do not see each other and are not distracted from the main task - to pull the rope.

Weightpoolling. In the beginning, competitions for the movement of cargo by dogs were only an addition to the riding sport. They were used for entertainment after the main competitions. Later, weightpoolling was separated into a separate sport. Its rules were officially drawn up in 1978. The essence of the sport: the dog must move the load as quickly as possible for several meters. Dogs at the same time perform in different weight categories, and there are also differences in distances. The handler should not touch the dog or use treats, baits, a strict collar and other tricks.

Pitch & Go. This sport appeared in Japan at the end of the 20th century. The usual fun with throwing a dog a ball, stick and other objects with the team "Upport" turns out to be a separate sports discipline. The difference from simple fun is that the dog must strictly follow all the commands of the owner, which is achieved by long training. There is also a water pitch and go – the dog must grab and bring the object thrown into the water.
