Introduction:

Minecraft is a game that has proven to have longevity, no matter what game is the talk of the town at any given time Minecraft always hits the top of the list - why? many people claim it's too basic to be a game worth playing, the fact that there is no point, no story and no end in sight puts people off, but why must these things impact negatively? these are all points that make the game unlike anything ever made before and sure the graphics could be better and even the sounds of the game aren't great but in its place it has so much content you couldn't do everything possible in one day plus it gives you the creative power to do anything you want. Minecraft represents a simpler time that all of us wish we could live. a time when you didn't need a permit or money to use what the earth provides. you don't have to pay for energy or food you simply take what you need and you don't answer to anyone, the monsters in the game are nothing compared to real life threats - if you die you respawn and take back your possessions like nothing ever happened there is plenty of room for error.

Multiplayer:

so you want to hang out with your friends? one excellent thing about Minecraft which not many other games share is the amount of unique possibility's of a multiplayer server. you can run your own server and have full creative control over game play with many mods that Mojang openly allows. or you can play on a completely free server that someone else has taken the liberty of creating for you and you have no commitment what so ever.

Custom maps/games:

The coolest thing about Minecraft is you don't need to be a computer programmer to make your own customs maps, there are literally thousands upon thousands of customs maps and minigames created by the community which means Minecraft is a great way to tell a story or create awareness for a special cause. because of its sandbox nature the sky is literally the limit and though that is only 256 blocks high there is plenty you can do, running out of space for you creative flare is never a concern.

Positive impacts:

Many people underestimate the ability Minecraft has to create long lasting relationships, it may only be on the internet but it still counts because you actively working together on something that makes you happy and that can only be good, there have been story's in the past about potentially suicidal people who saved themselves with Minecraft which is an amazing thing to know in this day and age, I know it may not seem like it but 2016 isn't the best year in history to be alive what with pointless wars and conflicts that don't benefit anyone Minecraft doesn't reflect these horribly occurrences despite what some people may say and so it shouldn't. the baby boomers suggest that our generation is soft because we don't like conflict but it is them who are intolerant to change, we just want to be happy and people are ding to achieve it. You may think this is an odd topic to be getting into while trying to discuss Minecraft but I felt it was a point worth making, minecarft brings out the human in us and deminisious our insecurities!

Minecrafts development:

Minecraft has been around since 2010 (6 years) and is only getting more popular, this is in part due to its continued development while most game studios like to start on something new every couple of years Mojang instead favors improving what already works, which has proven to be very lucrative for them, in 2015 Mojang was acquired by Microsoft for a whistly tune of $2.5 billion (est) and (obviously) is still continuing to make money.

Mojang continues to develop Minecraft with what they call snapshots which are un official releases of the game with added experimental features that may or may not corrupt your world save! which is one of the biggest reasons Minecraft is still doing so well.
