Microsoft has planned to completely transfer the Windows operating system (OS) to the "cloud" storage. This is reported by The Verge.

As it became known to the journalists of the IT portal, Microsoft told about this during the hearings of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on the acquisition of the Activision Blizzard studio. The corporation had to disclose its plans for Windows, as it is associated with Microsoft's gaming business. In the current June presentation, designed for employees, the possibility of hosting Windows in the "cloud" was described.

According to experts, the operating system can be placed in virtual storage and accessed from any device and browser. The corporation's engineers noted that this will simplify interaction with the system on different devices.

Journalists noted that this feature is partially available to corporate users of Windows, but in the future it will appear in ordinary consumers. Internal materials say that with the placement of Windows in the "cloud" storage, the OS will be able to compete with other products - for example, ChromeOS from Google.

In early May, insiders said that Microsoft planned to create its own processors. The chips will be adapted to work with the next-generation Windows 12 operating system.
