In team sports, the coach is faced with the task of creating a good team and nurturing team spirit. Obviously, the processes of interaction of athletes in group activities have their own patterns. If you gather all the stars of this sport into one team, this will not in itself guarantee that this team will become a "good team". The term "good team" implies the personal cohesion of team members and the presence of team psychology of winners.

Team psychology has a number of features. One of the most important features is the creation and maintenance of a special psychological climate in the team, the so-called team spirit. The coach should pay special attention to this problem. Since, the worse the psychological climate in the team, the lower its potential, regardless of the skill level of individual team members. Therefore, the psychological climate of the team directly affects the results of the team's performance.

Psychologists also note that successfully performing teams have:
the presence of real and breakthrough goals that are accepted by all athletes of the team at a conscious and emotional level
creative thinking
a high level of development of self-regulation competent attitude to losing
strict internal discipline of both each athlete individually and the whole team as a whole
The complementarity of some athletes to other team
members is a successful distribution of roles between athletes, where everyone is in his place
a common goal that stands above personal interests
, the ability to take responsibility for the result on himself.

It is the coach who is responsible for creating and maintaining the appropriate spirit in the team. A good team can be created only if the coach is not limited only to conducting training and tactical exercises, but is a good communicator who can gently resolve conflict situations that often arise between members of the same team, a person who rallies the team around him. At the same time, you need to be able to maintain your position as a leader, coach, without turning into "your guy" in relation to athletes, but also without abusing your power

Creating a good team is not a matter of one day or one year. It is also important to remember that the style of communication in a good team is friendly, not allowing the elevation of some team members at the expense of others. It is necessary to make every member of the team think "we", not "I"!
