1860 год. Накануне объединения Италии в единое королевство южную часть полуострова наводнили отряды пьемонтцев для борьбы с мятежниками, которые собирались в банды. Против новой власти восстали не только те, кто был на службе у Бурбонов, но и простые крестьяне. Но одна из банд получила более широкую известность, ведь состояла она из женщин. «Распутницы» - так называли их представители новой власти, а сами они считали себя борцами за справедливость и собственную свободу.
